Southborough High is a school where students thrive both academically and socially.
Our focus is on achievement and all pupils are encouraged to do their best and fulfil their own special potential.
Examination success is very important to us but we also value other achievements.
Participation in extra-curricular activities, successes in the workplace and ensuring positive contributions to community activities reflect some of the many dimensions of learning that are highly valued at Southborough High.
By working in partnership with parents, our well qualified staff and the school's governors aim to secure a successful future for all students based on a foundation of good examination performance and high levels of social responsibility.

Hook Roundabout Safety Improvements
Please read the following regarding Safety improvements that Transport for London propose to carry out on the Hook Roundabout starting on the 16 August for 6 weeks until 1st October. The extent of the works can be seen on the attached plan here which includes:-
- A narrowing of the zebra crossing on the A309 exit from the roundabout.
- New high friction surfacing where required.
- Additional approach signing and road markings.
- Minor kerb realignments to the frontage of the pub and Shell garage.
- A speed limit reduction to 30mph on the A309 approach to the roundabout.
The first stage of the works will complete prior to the Autumn term starting and involves 24/7 traffic management reducing each approach and the circulatory part of the roundabout to one lane. The remainder of the works will take place between the morning and evening peak periods when traffic levels are lightest.
We are well aware that every effort must be made to ensure the safety of pupils walking to and from school during this work so every effort will be made to adequately sign pedestrian walkways and keep crossing points well maintained and safe.
Sports Day 2010
Sports Day was a super success. The participation and involvement of our students, the contribution from staff and parents and from the Friends of Southborough High (FOSH) ensured that the occasion was enjoyed by all. The prospect of managing the day in the face of the high forecast temperature did worry us a little, however after last year’s successful experience of an even hotter day we were reassured. In the event it was a super day. The good organisation and planning by the PE. team and super attitudes and maturity displayed by our students ensured smooth operation and some outstanding performances.

Within a few weeks of joining the school, I made a lot of friends. Here, you get to know someone very quickly - it is so easy to make new friends mainly because of other pupils being so kind and helpful.
