Success at Southborough Sixth Form

Southborough Sixth Form offers a wide range of both A levels and Level 3 BTECs to suit the interests and strengths of our students. Whilst many opt to take only ‘A’ levels, others opt for a combination of ‘A’ levels and Level 3 BTECs. Our aim is to ensure that every student is able to study a combination of subjects that they both enjoy and are suited to academically. Research tells us that students are happier, less stressed and perform better academically if they are allowed to study the subjects that they love, rather than the subjects that they feel they should study – and we go out of our way to give the very best advice to each and every one of our sixth form applicants on what’s right for them, taking into account, for example, which career path they wish to follow and whether they want to go to university or move directly into the workplace after their two years with us.

In addition, we have an extremely rigorous assessment process whereby students are continually monitored on their progress and parents are regularly kept up-to-date throughout the students’ two year study period with us. The system clearly works as we have had record exam and course work success, with consistently good grades achieved by our students year on year.
