Dear Parent or Carer,

Welcome to Southborough

Congratulations on being offered a place at Southborough High School! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and to tell you a little more about our school and what you can expect from us.  

Most important is our vision: Aspiration, Commitment and Excellence. We strive to make the difference for all of our students and commit all of our energy into helping them to excel. This excellence takes many forms: academic performance, sporting prowess, creativity in music and the arts, innovative thinking… I believe that your sons will arrive at Southborough as boys, but leave as young men, confident of their place in the world and equipped with the skills to achieve their aspirations.  

The realisation of this vision begins now with our transition and induction programme, which has been designed to ensure that all of our students have the best possible start to their careers at Southborough. We have planned a range of activities that will serve as opportunities for us all to build the relationships that will prove central to our future students’ success.  

Firstly, in order for us to get to know our young people we would like to invite you and your son to meet with his future teachers and peers at our Friendship Day on Saturday 23rd of March. This will be a chance to get to know the school, experience taster lessons and for parents and carers to ask any questions they might have.

Our aim is that every boy who starts at our school in September does so as a confident and independent learner, ready to take advantage of the opportunities on offer to him.
