Who is it for?

The T Level Technical Qualification in Management and Administration (with leadership specialism) will allow you to gain an understanding of what is needed to work within an administrative or managerial role. It will provide you with a great route into further education or management roles within a variety of sectors. The Business and Administration T Level programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed for a successful career in management and administrative and business support roles across various industries. This two-year course focuses on leadership, organisational management, and effective business administration. This qualification is equivalent in value for UCAS of 3 ‘A Levels’ and will allow you to progress to university.

What qualifications do I need to start?

5 GCSE at grade 4/C or above including Maths, plus English Language at 5/C. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit grade, including Maths at grades 4/C and English Language at grades 5/C or above.

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered in the classroom and also out on location. TL students will work in and around local businesses throughout the course. Alongside the classroom, students will work with small businesses, attend business networking events and work on live briefs with business professionals.

How long will it take?

The course is delivered over two years, full-time.

How is the course assessed?

Assessment methods will include written assignments, presentations, project work, work-based assessments, and continuous evaluation of work-based learning experiences. There are two core exams and an employer set project designed to allow judgement of the learner to be made across different categories of performance. The overall grade is subject to completion/achievement of all T Level requirements, not just the components of the technical qualification. You will also be required to complete 315 hours of a relevant industry placement.

Course options after this programme

  • This course is equivalent to three A Levels, so you could decide to progress onto Higher Education and study a degree, for example in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Law or Project Management, or
  • You could complete a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship
  • Go to University to study a Degree
  • Go straight into employment

It’s really important to understand that successful completion of your Industry Placement hours is a mandatory requirement for passing your T Level course. This placement is not just an add-on; it’s an integral part of your learning journey and is essential for demonstrating the skills and knowledge you’ve gained.

Therefore, please be aware that if the required Industry Placement hours are not completed, you will not achieve your T Level qualification.
