Eco-Club and Science Students Shine at the Natural History Museum

During the week, our enthusiastic Eco-Club and Science students embarked on an exciting super-curricular trip to the Natural History Museum. This visit was part of a Student Consultation aimed at developing resources for the museum's upcoming 'Fixing Our Broken Planet' exhibit.

The students had the unique opportunity to explore the exhibit, which showcases the incredible ways scientists have been investigating climate change over the years. They learned about the profound effects humans have had on our planet and its diverse species. The exhibit was not only educational but also inspiring, highlighting the importance of taking action to protect our environment.

One of the highlights of the trip was the Pond Dipping activity in the museum's recently reopened gardens. The students were thrilled to discover the vast variety of animal and insect species that inhabit the ponds. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the biodiversity that exists in even the smallest of ecosystems.

Our students' contributions during the consultation were invaluable. The museum's education staff were impressed by the brilliant ideas and insights our students provided. As a result, the Southborough High School name will be proudly displayed on all the resources developed from this collaboration. This recognition is a testament to the creativity and dedication of our students.

This trip was not just an educational outing but also a chance for our students to make a real impact. By participating in the development of the 'Fixing Our Broken Planet' exhibit, they have played a part in raising awareness about climate change and the importance of conservation.

We are incredibly proud of our Eco-Club and Science students for their hard work and enthusiasm. Their involvement in this project has not only enriched their learning experience but also contributed to a meaningful cause. We look forward to seeing the final exhibit and the resources that will bear our school's name.

The behaviour and conduct of our students were a credit to the school. Well done boys! Ms Litchfield
