Introducing our new Sixth Form Student Leadership Team 2025/26

Following a highly stringent recruitment process, Southborough is thrilled with the positive impact that the new Sixth Form Student Leadership Team 2025 /26 has clearly demonstrated during the first Half Term of this year.

Leading the team is Head Boy Angus Y and Head Girl Ana NG, ably supported by a number of Deputy Head Boys, namely Nouredine H, Justine D , George .D, and Deputy Head Girls , Tasneem J and Ahlaan H.

Since the start of September the team has supported both our whole school Open Evening and Sixth Form Open Evening, not to mention a number of high profile events, like the recent Borough of Kingston Primary and Secondary Schools 100% Attendance Ceremony (hosted on behalf of the Mayor of Kingston) and our National Poetry Day.

So why do we believe that having a Sixth Form Student Leadership Team is so very important at Southborough? Firstly, we believe that it provides a platform for student voice, improving communication between students and staff. It also develops essential life skills for the students involved, such as communication, problem-solving and responsibility. We understand that these teams contribute to a positive school culture by mentoring younger students, organising (and assisting in) events, and setting an example for the student body.

But our Sixth Form SLT do so much more than this. Our student leaders help with initiatives like subject promotion, mentoring younger students and providing academic and social support that can improve engagement. Finally, they contribute to the overall development and enrichment of the Sixth Form itself.

Head of Sixth Form Mr Needs concluded: “Deputy Head of Sixth Form Ms Geering and I are delighted with our new Student Leadership Team. They have already done an amazing job show-casing the school during our Open Season and other events and we know that they will continue to do a fabulous job over the coming year ahead. We wish them every success in their new roles!”
