The Zenith Centre is the heart of - and central hub for - identifying and providing effective academic support, targeted intervention, alternative pathways and bespoke provisions, all with the clear purpose of meeting the specific needs of our students. |
With dozens of specialist internal professionals and qualified practitioners working collaboratively with key external agencies, the Zenith Centre provides every student - regardless of their needs, difficulties or challenges - with an excellent support network and opportunities to ensure that every child can achieve their very best and reach their potential at Southborough. |

What is the impact of the Zenith Centre? |
SPECIALIST INTERVENTION HUB IMPACT
In a recent parental survey (2024):
- 91% of parents said their son knew you tot alk to if they were upset or unhappy
- 75% of parents said their son likes school
In a recent student survey (2023):
- 81% said they feel cared for in school
- 84% said they feel safe in school
- 84% said the schools provides them with information to stay safe
- 88% said they know who to talk to in school if they were worries or upset
Restart IMPACT
- Helped lower suspension rate from 9% to 4.4%
- Y9 had a 65% decrease in suspensions compared to when in Y8
- Helped lower Persistent Absence (<90%) from 25% to 17%
- Help lower Servere Absence (<50%) from 2.0% to 0.9%
Key Group IMPACT
- PP attainment improved by a third (4.00) in 2023/24 compared to 2022/23 (3.68)
- PP progress improved by 0.5 a grade in every subject in 2023/24 (P8 = -0.33) compared to 2022/23 (P8 = -0.85)
- In 2019, P8 PP = -0.95, A8 PP = 3.4
- In 2024, P8 PP = -0.33 A8 PP = 4.0
- SEND students achieved nearly 0.5 a grade higher in every subject compared to national (P8) in 2023/24 (EHCP = +0.35, Support = +0.17) Two years in a row of positive progress in SEND
- In 2019, P8 EHCP = -1.92, SEND Support = -1.72
- In 2024, P8 EHCP = +0.35, SEND Support = +0.17
- EAL students achieved over 0.6 a grade higher in every subject compared to national (P8) in 2023/24
TAS IMPACT
In just two terms the following Reading Age improvements have been made:
- Year 7 = +6 months progress
- Year 8 = +7 months progress
- Year 9 = +9 months progress
